the plans do not come with seatbelt plans, however you can order one and install it easy enough. you can buy a reverse gear seperate. i hope this helps

Thanks John... Versetylity, John is correct. The seatbelt is an easy fix. You can just buy one from Jegs.com or BMI and just attach to your kart. As for the reverse gear, that will be a bit tricky. Go karts this size dont normally have reverse, but like John said you can find gear boxes out there that will do the trick.

I have bought the recluse plans, reading the parts page it says that I should buy 5" douglas rims for the front but 6" maxxis tyres. Surely this is a typo. If so could you suggest the correct tyre for the rim?

Hey there... I would not suggest the Recluse for your kart. If you are going to try to go those speeds I would start with a frame like the Arachnid or Tarantula. They have a lot more capability to add bigger motors and do more with gearing and such. The Recluse is our version of a Pocket Bike! Its tiny, fast and a ton of fun but I would not suggest going 50 MPH on this kart!

The numbers in the plans are correct... But you are reading the numbers wrong.
They are all part numbers for 6" Wheels. So order all 6" items.

if one were to use a 6h.p. engine, what would be the approximate total cost for the recluse go kart, not including tools

jetpilot35,
The recluse will run about $500 - $800 depending of the quality of hardware you decide to put on it. You can buy all steel and cheaper parts or get all lightened aluminum parts that would be much more...
