i recently ordered the itsy bitsy plans for my 6 yo. son. i'm gathering all the parts and materials atm using bmi as suggested. they do indeed have good prices. i have some questions about the parts list though. some of the item descriptions seem a little ambiguous version what they offer on bmikarts.com.
would it be possible for someone to give me the bmi karts sku's for the parts list items? although some of these parts are a matter of preference, i want to know specifically which parts are being suggested for building the stock version of this cart.
thanks!
EDIT: parts i'm not sure about -- brake rod, throttle kit, brake drum, band brake, tie rod kit, steering nut, steering wheel hub. thx!

Hey there... This is our simplest kart and cheapest to build. Because people are trying to build this on such a budget we decided to leave out some of the specifics so you can add on the parts you have laying around. We give a great start with the frame and parts list that we suggest. Once you have the frame put together it will be very obvious how the rest of it goes together.
We also dont give out SKUs for any of the parts because we have no control over there numbering structure. When I started with Spidercarts we used to put all the Skus and part numbers for our customers but then BMI would change a part number or SKU then our plans were wrong and people were ordering the wrong parts. And also BMI wont give us any deals on complete packages for our customers. We wanted to have a bundle people could pruchase if they so desired to finish their karts, but they wouldnt work with us so I am a bit put off buy them right now. We send so much business their way and they wont work with us at all... So...

Ive got an almost five year old that i want to build this with/for. Does anyone have a suggestion to what size(hp) engine would be safe and fun? Also, does anyone know roughly how much it will cost to build the itzy bitzy when its all said and done? Just trying to get everything lined up before i buy the plans. Thanks.

bfmorro,
Well I would actually look at building the Recluse. Its still very small but a bit more stable and he could grow into it a bit. I built the Itzy Bitzy for my 5 year old and he grew out of it very quickly. Its tiny! I would do the Recluse with a 3.5 motor on it. You can always adjust the throttle linkage to not allow him to give it to much gas...
