In this video, we at Spidercarts guide you through the assembly of the go-kart, starting with the front end. After cleaning the welded frame, we prepare it for painting by using a solution of laundry detergent and hot water. Once painted, we move on to drilling necessary holes for the brake and gas pedals, ensuring proper alignment.
We then assemble the front end, beginning with the spindles and spindle brackets. The spindles are installed with Teflon washers and bolts, ensuring they face down to achieve a lower center of gravity. After tightening, we move on to the tie rods, which come unassembled, requiring the installation of the tie rod ends and stopper nuts. The steering column is then added, along with the lower and upper steering brackets. For optimal steering, the steering column is fitted with a collar that prevents it from sliding, and the steering wheel is attached to the steering shaft using a nut and cotter pin.
Next, we assemble the front hubs, which slide onto the axle with a spacer, followed by the hub and nut. The brake pedal is then attached to its pre-drilled hole, with washers used to prevent rubbing. Springs and rods are added to the brake pedal, completing the front end assembly. We emphasize the importance of tightening all components, checking clearances, and ensuring everything is properly aligned before moving on to the back end assembly.
