7. Welding Front Sub Frame

In this video, we at Spidercarts walk you through the assembly of the front subframe of the go-kart. First, we focus on the subframe runners, which are the 2730 pieces, and attach them to the 430 pieces at a 30° angle. We ensure the pieces are aligned properly by using a gauge to double-check the angles before welding them together. Once the two runners are welded, we take care to ensure the piece with the side holes is on the left side of the cart, as specified in the design.

Next, we move on to welding the front section. The 2290 piece is placed in the front, with precise measurements taken to mark its position. We measure 5 1/2 inches from the center to properly position the runners, then weld everything into place. Additionally, a 1190 support piece is placed 15 inches from the front 2290 to provide support for the seat.

After completing the basic frame, we add the spindle brackets, which are positioned at a 6° angle facing inward to ensure proper steering. A special clamp is used to keep the parts at a precise 90° angle while welding. The front bumper section is also welded into place. With all these pieces secured, the subframe structure is ready for further assembly, and we ensure everything is square and aligned before moving forward.
