8. Final Welds

In this video, we at Spidercarts guide you through the process of assembling and welding the go-kart’s frame, focusing on key components like the subframe, front bumper, and steering brackets. First, we position and clamp the 2730 pieces that serve as the runners, ensuring that the brackets are correctly aligned at a 25° angle. Once everything is in place, we proceed with welding these components securely.

Next, we weld the front section, which includes positioning the 2290 piece and marking the correct distances for the runners. After welding the front subframe together, we attach it to the previously assembled subframe, ensuring everything is level and aligned. We stress the importance of checking measurements to ensure the front and back pieces are parallel for proper axle and wheel alignment. If needed, small adjustments can be made by tapping the pieces into position.

Once the main frame is welded, we move on to adding the seat back support, steering brackets, and side rails. For the seat back, we grind it to create the right angle, allowing for a comfortable lean while riding. We also tackle compound angles, grinding and filing the metal until it fits perfectly. After all the components are welded together, we clean up any rough edges and finalize the frame, making sure everything is secure and smooth.
